J-HIMDI is a project supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) under Department of Rural Development, Govt. of Jharkhand for promotion of Micro Drip Irrigation (MDI) in the state of Jharkhand.

The project is targeting 30,000 farmer households across 30 blocks of 09 districts of Jharkhand State. The project adopts a holistic approach wherein farmers are provided with,

  • Micro Drip Irrigation (MDI)
  • Poly Nursery House (PNH)
  • Vermi-Compost Unit (VCU)

Along with mentioned above, farmer groups will be supported with,

  • Zero Energy Cool Chambers
  • Multipurpose Community Centres
  • Market Centres (Godown, Cold storage etc.)
  • Agriculture Tool Bank

Along with Continuous trainings on pre-production and post-production including market linkage

To improve the household incomes from diversified farming and off-farming activities.

To empowering women through micro-enterprises promotion and linkage.

To improve the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers in Jharkhand by off-season vegetable production using micro drip irrigation systems (MDI) with intensive technical support for enhancement of productivity and marketability of horticulture crops.

Objective

To improve land and water productivity and profitability.

To save time and resources of women farmers.

To promote round the year cultivation with focus on off season farming.

To promote producer groups for alternative marketing channel.

By reaching out to 30000 farmers in 30 blocks of 9 districts by 2022.
